1) So you want to start playing League of Legends?

League of Legends (LoL) is an Action RTS/MOBA game developed and published by Riot Games that is inspired by the custom map Defense of the Ancients (DotA) on Warcraft III.

As of the 18th of November 2011, League of Legends has reached 32 million accounts and has become one of the most popular online games.

To get started you will need to register an account as well as download the game.

1) Go to http://signup.leagueoflegends.com/?ref=4cd4ed77f11c8258285861

You will arrive at this page:

 2)  Fill in all the details (Username, Password, Email Address, Date of Birth, Region)
Remember your username is permanent, you can not change it.
Make sure you select the region that's closest for you
Tick the "I agree to the Terms of Use" box.


3) Click on "PLAY FOR FREE".
You will arrive at this page:

4) Click on "Download Game"
(Note: At this point you're only downloading the INSTALLER, which is about 2MB, the game is much bigger at about 1.2GB)

5) Run the installer you just downloaded.

Go through the prompts, the installer will start downloading the game.
6) When the installer has finished downloading the game, open League of Legends. (You should be able to find it on your desktop)

Congratulations, you have just successfully installed League of Legends!
